We’re Looking for Uganda’s Best and Brightest Students and Teachers to Launch a Video Editing Studio in 2024.

StoryDrive is looking for Ugandan student leaders and teachers to help develop a Video Storytelling Studio. Through this studio, students can learn video storytelling editing skills, and apply what they are learning to help edit Christian testimonies for churches and ministries in the United States. The students can then go on to use these vocational skills as freelancers, and contractors, or possibly become instructors and mentors for future students.

To help identify prospective students and teachers to launch the studio, we’ve created a contest that is meant to be both fun and challenging.

Here is a short video helping share the spirit and concept of the Video Storytelling Studio.

Here are the contest instructions. You must complete all 4 steps.

  1. Using the free app CapCut, download this video file, and follow the instructions contained in the video file, to create your assignment video.

  2. Film yourself (or have a friend film you), telling us your name, the school you attend, and why you want to be a part of the Video Editing Studio.

  3. Have a teacher or school leader write us a short letter of recommendation as to why they think you’d be a great person for the Video Story Studio.

  4. Complete the contest entry form here, where you’ll be able to attach the two videos you’ve created.

Contest Rules
All completed entries will be reviewed by a panel of experts and judged based on how well instructions were followed, and the professionalism and enthusiasm of your introduction video.

The deadline for contest entries is August 15th, 2023.

Prizes
We will award the top 3 students with a $20 USD prize each.
And the top 3 teachers with a $50 USD prize each.
If we receive at least 12 student contest entries, and 3 teacher entries from the same school, we will award the school with a $500 USD grant.
